About ME
I am a Ferris State University alumnus whose work has been honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, PBS, and the West Michigan Eclipse Awards. I am driven by creating efficient workflows, collaborating with diverse teams of people, and delivering polished, professional results through all avenues of digital media.
My journey started in rural Johannesburg, Michigan, where I helped launch my high school’s first broadcasting program. Teaching myself Adobe Premiere on a home laptop and filming football games with hand-me-down cameras, I quickly fell in love with visual storytelling.
At Ferris State, I began writing and directing short films, which led me to competing in the Grand Rapids Film Festival’s 36-Hour Challenge. Our short film, Periphery, earned awards for editing and sound, and was later featured in the PBS Online Film Festival. A year later, a segment of a senior show I produced, “College Kids Cars,” won a National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2018 College/University Student Production Award.
Moving into the professional sphere, my internship at Fission3 scaled my experience from local ads to high-profile campaigns for clients like Amway, Siemens, and ArtPrize. Our 10-year retrospective of ArtPrize, which aired on Grand Rapids local WOOD TV, won numerous Eclipse Awards including Best Editor in a Documentary.
Today, I operate as an independent digital media specialist under Umlaut Productions, serving as a trusted, long-term creative partner for major corporate entities and global brands. I maintain flagship creative partnership as a contract employee with Gordon Food Service alongside trusted clients like Paradox Interactive and Iceflake Studios.
Whether I’m tweaking a complex color grade, brainstorming stories that truly impact the audience, or diving headfirst into an entirely new endeavor, I bring passion to every frame. I am always looking to collaborate, and I can’t wait to see what we can create together!
